Shoulder Pain Physical Therapy in Pacific Beach, CA
Get back to lifting, swimming, and living pain-free. Our Doctors of Physical Therapy treat the root cause of your shoulder pain—not just the symptoms.
Is Shoulder Pain Holding You Back?
-
Can't Lift Your Arm
Whether it's reaching overhead, throwing, or lifting weights, shoulder pain limits your movement and keeps you from the activities you love.
-
Temporary Relief That Doesn't Last
Massage, ice, and rest might ease the pain for a few days, but it always comes back because the underlying issue isn't being fixed.
-
Frustrated by Ineffective Treatment
You've tried chiropractors, traditional PT, or injections with little improvement. Surgery feels like the only option, but you're not ready to give up.
We Fix What Others Miss
At Hyena Rehab, we don't treat your shoulder in isolation. Shoulder pain often stems from poor posture, breathing mechanics, or imbalances in your core and hips. Most physical therapy clinics rush through sessions and never address these root causes.
Every 55-minute session is one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy who analyzes how your entire body moves. We identify the real problem, restore proper function, and give you the tools to prevent future flare-ups.
Full-body movement assessments to find the source of pain
One-on-one sessions with Doctors of PT (no aides or assistants)
Customized treatment plans for athletes, runners, and active individuals
Out-of-network practice with no insurance restrictions
"I had been to a few different chiropractors for my left shoulder pain. I had injured it playing basketball and wasn't able to bear weight with a straight arm, hold my hand or arm comfortably over my head, or do any of the normal active movements. Austin helped me make significant progress, and I'm finally seeing real results."

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a referral to see a physical therapist at Hyena Rehab?
No. Direct Access legislation in California allows you to see a physical therapist without visiting your doctor's office first. You can receive physical therapy services for up to 45 calendar days or 12 visits, whichever comes first.
How is Hyena Rehab different from insurance-based physical therapy clinics?
Every 55-minute session is one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy—no aides, no double-booking, no rushed appointments. We're an out-of-network practice, which means we work for you, not insurance companies. We treat based on what you need, not what a provider will cover. This allows us to deliver the highest quality of care.
Does Hyena Rehab accept insurance?
We're an out-of-network practice that can generate a Superbill for you to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement. We also accept HSA and FSA. This model allows us to focus on effective, individualized treatment without insurance companies dictating care.
What should I expect at my first appointment?
Your first visit is a comprehensive $99 evaluation. We'll analyze your movement from head to toe to identify the root cause of your symptoms. We test how your body moves in real life—not just on a table. You'll leave with a clear understanding of what's causing your pain and a customized treatment plan based on your specific goals.
How much does physical therapy cost?
Initial Evaluation: $99 (56% off). Individual 55-minute sessions: $225. Discounted care plans available: 6 sessions at $205 each, 11 sessions at $185 each (or $175 special offer), and 24 sessions at $165 each. You can submit a Superbill to your insurance for potential reimbursement.
Can you help with chronic pain I've had for years?
Yes. Even if you've had pain for several years and your doctor recommends surgery, that doesn't mean your issues cannot be addressed conservatively. We specialize in treating chronic pain by addressing root causes, not just managing symptoms. Many clients find lasting relief after trying everything else.
Still Have Questions?
Don't settle for temporary fixes. Let's find what's actually causing your pain and fix it for good.
